Evelynn Mae,
You are finally here and WOW it has been an adventure for the three of us. In the course of 10 days you have pooped on me multiple times, puked on me almost every day (most of the time we were in public), woken me up any time I have tried to sleep, refused to fall asleep for Dad when he was trying to let me sleep during the night....but you have also given us some of our most precious moments. You have laid on my chest and warmed my heart. You have looked up at me with your big blue eyes and made everything worth it. You have smiled at me and have made the cutest faces in your sleep and while you are awake that brought a huge smile to my face. Daddy says it everyday and it is absolutely true, "You are the cutest baby we have ever seen."
Your daddy loves you more than you will ever know. He will hold you for hours instead of putting you in your crib, he will always offer to change you, he talks to you all day long telling you how much he loves you, how adorable you are and how special you are. He is the perfect father and husband and will always love and cherish you.
I love you too baby girl. Tonight we went to the movies with grandma and grandpa and you and I spent most of the time in the bathroom. You pooped on me, pooped two more times while we were in there, I fed you on the toilet because you wouldn't stop sucking on my arm and there was no other place to feed you, I accidentally threw the nipple shield you have to use to eat in the trash and had to go through the entire trash to find it, I changed your clothes and wiped you down after you threw up all your food on daddy and me....and after all this, I still loved you with all my heart. As I changed you I realized these are the moments that strengthen the love your parents have for you. I realized why my mom loves me so much and I recognized how deeply I love you because I would do it all again if it made you happy....Dad and I did decide we will not be going to the movies again any time soon, but we learned a lot from this experience.
We love you Evelynn Mae. You have stolen our hearts....you also test our hearts. You have provided us within these last 10 days with the most joy, tears, experience, trials, and sacred memories we have ever had.
Even on those days you think I hate you, I hope you remember that day we spent together in the restroom at the movie theater, because I truly will do anything for you.
Love,
Mom
