Baby Girl!!
We are SO SO excited that you are a girl. Mom has always wanted a girl as her first child and was beyond excited to find out that's exactly who you are. Seeing you on the ultrasound screen for about 30 minutes was amazing. You are kicking so much, sometimes you even keep mom up because you are so active when it is time to go to sleep. While we were at the doctors we found out that so far you are absolutely perfect and healthy. Dad and I feel overwhelmingly blessed to have you healthy and strong.
Dad and I actually didn't find out you were a girl though until 7pm that night. Aunt Maren, Aunt Anna and Grandma A came to the ultrasound with us (they were beaming with joy to see you for the first time, you my dear are already beyond loved) and they took the gender in an envelope home for our little gender reveal party that Grandma A threw for us.
SO many people came to see who you are. All your aunts and uncles and grandparents came from both sides, Aunt Cassie, Kayci, Ella and Brooke all came. Kolton (moms best friend from high school), Tanner and Carver, Kelsey (moms and dads best friend from our family ward), Calvin and Brooklynn and Grandma Talley all came as well. We had about 25 people there to find out who you were.
Aunt Maren and Anna got a big black balloon and filled it up with pink confetti so when we popped it pink confetti flew everywhere...mom had it all over her....even in her mouth. Almost everyone thought you were a girl, so everyone was jumping up and down for joy...including mom and dad. We had so many pink and blue treats after and had so much fun talking about you.
Aunt Niki already gave us so many cute girl clothes and we already got some diapers and a teddy bear for you from a good friend of ours in our ward. You are going to be so spoiled.
Mom and Dad and busier than ever. Dad is still working up in SLC doing construction and is loving it, he also got offered to buy some land and build a home on it for a discounted price which we are considering doing next year so you'll have some room to grow up in. He also got offered to go buy a truck and his company will finance it, which is such a huge blessing seeing that Cara (my old car I've had since I was 16) is the only car we still have. Dad is also getting really involved in his calling as EQ president and doesn't want to move out of the ward. He is still doing school and trying his best to graduate in a year and a half so he can start working full time for us.
Mom is LOVING student teaching at Lakeridge Junior High. I love my students SO much and love teaching them about health. Right now I am teaching them about pregnancy and birth and we talk about you all day, everyday. All my students thought you were a boy but the girls were shouting for joy when I told them you were a girl. This upcoming week is my last week with them and it breaks my heart. I have come to love
these students of mine and don't want to leave them. I even found a letter on one of their desks that said "Health with Mrs. Smith is AWESOME!" This made my day! It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Mom also got offered a long term sub position that I will start in April. We are so blessed to have this opportunity because it'll provide a lot more money than we expected those few months I will not be working.
Baby Girl, I want you to know that God will take care of us and you if we follow the commandments. Dad and I have been amazed with the amount of miracles and blessings we've received while I've been student teaching and pregnant with you. The power of tithing is real, God will provide as well follow him and put him first in our lives. This has been testified to me over and over again throughout my life. You are going to be born into a family who loves God and who loves you.
We can't wait to meet you in 19 weeks!!
With all my heart,
MOM
